Texture on wedding cakes is very visually interesting.
The first photo shows a cake that uses nothing but the texture from the flowers on the brides dress.
Our first episode of We TV’s Amazing wedding cake debuts this sunday at 10pm! This episode is titled “the Italian Job” and features a really awesome Engagement cake for our superstar couples Amanda Lewis and Chris Longo. They were a blast to work with! Chris’s daughter Gabby was even impressed with our Red Velvet cake, which I hope they include in the episode. All week, we will be featuring spaghetti and meatball cupcakes in vanilla and chocolate to celebrate the debut! They are $3.50 each and will be available at both our LaPlace location, and Beachwood Mall location.
Back in August, we were contacted by a producer at WE TV to possibly be cast on a show that is called “Amazing Wedding Cakes”. Being a HUGE fan of the show, I was blown away that they were even interested in us! The show had existed for 3 years, and had always featured the same 4 bakeries, one from NY, Chicago, Orange county and L.A. So we were pretty honored that they were even interested in our little shop from Cleveland…..
We had to submit some videos to them, showcasing the “personality” of our shop, the kind of cakes we make, etc and crossed our fingers that we would be chosen! A couple months went by, and we heard nothing, and assumed we were not chosen for the show. Then we got a phone call in the beginning of November from the producer letting us know we got it! We were chosen out of hundreds of bakeries nationwide, and what an awesome opportunity for us! We would start filming 9 episodes in 3 different weeks starting mid-December.
The process began with casting our couples for the show. We had to submit what cakes we thought would be awesome to make on TV, and that was a challenge finding weddings and events mid-December. Once they were approved by the Network, it was then time to figure out how to make 3 over the top wedding cakes in 6 day segments of filming. That was the challenge.
When the film and production crew came in to film ,we had no idea how hard it would be. The process of making a TV show slows you down a lot. It was like we were making cakes in slow motion because every time you did something, you had to show the camera, talk about what you were doing, ect. the camera guys even sat in the van with us during cake deliveries! Lauren, myself and my husband Matt pushed through those stressful weeks, and made some of the most unbelievable, amazing cakes that we have ever done. You will see lots of
